Jamie Jensen

Jamie Jensen has provided strategic planning, technical advice, and training to foundations and non-profits serving the needs of impoverished communities for nearly 20 years. Her education, expertise and passion rest mainly with programs that support the education and development of young people living in our nation's cities. In her early 20's she found her calling at Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a Boston based agency serving alienated adolescents, most of whom were runaways, homeless, and often parenting teens. Currently, she advises the Ford Foundation's US-based Education Program and is the project director for the NYC School Partners Exchange -a network of leaders representing 20 non-profit organizations that have partnered with educators to open 250 new high schools of choice in NYC. Working in the philanthropic sector since the early 90's- first as a program officer at the Rockefeller Foundation and then as a consultant to a wide range of donors and grantees, Jamie brings a unique perspective on the challenges and rewards of strategic grant making to the Heart and Soul Board.
