Heart and Soul Spotlights Our Youth Services Organizations, Sunday, April 25th

Since our annual auction fundraising event in February we have already distributed $76,250. Here are the March recipients:

  • $25,750 - The Friday Lunch Program (formerly Friday Soup)
  • $27,500 - Monday Night Hospitality
  • $15,000 - Booker T. Washington Learning Center
  • $ 5,000 - NY Foundation for the Arts (via Time In)
  • $ 3,000 - Crossover Baseball

The first three recipients will be receiving additional funds later this year.

Our next event is a Heart & Soul Awareness Day, focusing on Youth Services Organizations. This will be held at All Souls in Reidy Friendship Hall on Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 12:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. During Coffee Hour we will have an exciting mini-auction including gift baskets, yoga lessons, a get organized session, teeth whitening, fine crystal, art pieces and many others. While all auction proceeds will go to youth organizations supported by the Charitable Fund, we welcome direct donations in any amount for a specific youth organization.

In addition to the mini-auction, there will be a chance to meet members and program coordinators for The Navigators, The Girl Scouts and The New Amsterdam
Boys and Girls Choir. Each group is planning a brief presentation to give us a taste of what they enjoy doing.

The festivities will wrap up with a concert by Rev. Ana Levy-Lyons starting approximately 1:45 p.m. Tickets are $30 each, with all proceeds going to the youth organizations.

Since many people have already purchased tickets at the annual auction, there will be a list of pre-paid attendees at the concert.

This is a festive, fund-raising event where you can see first-hand some of the organizations supported by the Heart & Soul Charitable Fund. Please come, have fun and be generous!
