Annemiek Gersten
Annemiek Gersten was born into a family of artists and raised in NYC. She was trained at an early age to be acutely aware of everything going on around her. Her photographs are examples of what she sees when looking at the world. With no formal photography training, she takes pictures to share that experience. Using a digital camera, she plays with images creating a Manipultion (many moving parts). Without actually changing colors or editing objects, she has focused in on a small portion of a photograph to show how the movement inherent in that place could actually be seen. The whole screen is beautiful but it, as in most of her work, is made up of many moving parts we often do not stop to see.
