Brandon Friend
Brandon Friend holds a BA in Art from University of Maryland and last year received an MFA from Queens College. His many solo exhibits include one at the Guthrie Contemporary in New Orleans this year. He has also participated in group exhibitions including the Lyons Wier Gallery, Ise Cultural Foundation Gallery and the OIA Gallery in New York and others in Boston, Miami, New Orleans, Kansas City and Austin. His work, as he describes it, is influenced by “natural processes such as growth and decay”. His work includes “Collage and the transferring of photographic elements” that ”obscure the surface along with veils of paint, producing ambiguous, visually rich subject matter.“ His works can be seen online at brandonfriend.com.
