Marjorie Price

Marjorie Price is a published artist and a prolific painter. She began her art education more than 50 years ago. Until moving to Rome in 1970, she worked from nature. “Once in Rome, the striking Mediterranean light and classic, geometric forms of Roman architecture were a sharp contrast to atmospheric, nordic light and gentle landscapes that had inspired me in Brittany during the 1960s. In addition I took up printmaking in Rome, a rigorous technique that introduced an internal structure in my painting. These were among the factors that led me to abstraction.” She has studied at the Grande Chaumiere in Paris as well as the San Francisco Art League and the Chicago Art Institute. Her paintings and graphics are represented in numerous public and private collections nationally and internationally. She has exhibited in solo and group shows and her work has been included in four books. Her work can be seen on the web at majorieprice.com.
