Edith De Chiara
Edith De Chiara, a mixed media artist who creates works-on-paper, is Professor Emeritus of Art Education, Lehman College. Her work is currently installed in gallery exhibits at Lehman Collage and at the Mulford Gallery in Rockland, ME and has been critically reviewed on a regular basis in the Long Island section of the NY Times. Frequently referencing nature as a source of imagery, materials such as seeds and seedpods provide inspiration while threads are used as a metaphor for line. She works on handmade paper that she generally stains with coffee.
